Each year SHOP 'n SAVE independent owners and operators, customers, vendors and employees team up to raise funds for muscular dystrophy research. This is the 10th year of participation in the primary activity Shamrocks Against Dystrophy.
In addition to employees at all SHOP 'n SAVE stores selling green and gold Shamrocks to help with the fight against muscular dystrophy, SHOP 'n SAVE and MDA also hold an annual golf event in July and in August customers support the Aisles of Smiles program.
2014 was a great year for SHOP 'n SAVE and the Shamrocks program with a generous total of $81,743. Through this effort SHOP 'n SAVE will be able to do one of the following: send 103 children to MDA Summer Camp, fund 1115 minutes of research, provide 825 support groups for families, or assist with repairs to 165 durable medical equipment items.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is the world’s leading nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular diseases. It does so by funding worldwide research; by providing comprehensive health care services and support to MDA families nationwide; and by rallying communities to fight back through advocacy, fundraising and local engagement.
