Full-Service Grocery Store Set to Anchor New Shopping Center

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – April 10, 2014 – The groundbreaking celebration, marking the start of the construction for the brand new SHOP ‘n SAVE in Youngwood, is set for April 16 at 3 p.m. SHOP ‘n SAVE owners Tom and Debbie Jamieson, who have spent more than 25 years in the grocery and retail business, are bringing economic and job growth to the community, along with an elevated shopping and grocery experience.

“This new development will be a wonderful destination for Youngwood residents and serve as a source of growth for the community,” said Tom Jamieson, SHOP ‘n SAVE owner and developer of Youngwood Commons. “My family and I are thrilled to bring a full-service SHOP ‘n SAVE to the area that offers double coupons, weekly specials and everyday savings.”

The 70,000 square-foot Youngwood Commons shopping center will be anchored by the 35,000 square-foot SHOP ‘n SAVE located along State Route 119 Northbound of the former Robertshaw UPS Facility. The new full-service grocery store, set to open in late fall of 2014, will offer residents a wide variety of fresh produce, prepared food options, expanded dairy and frozen foods section, full-service deli, bakery, fresh seafood and meat with on-site butchers. The grocery store will include an in-store bank for the customer’s convenience. When customers sign up for SHOP 'n SAVE Perks Card, they will receive special discounts, along with Pump Perks redeemable at over 130 participating SUNOCO gas stations, including one right across the street from the development.

The entire Youngwood Commons shopping center, owned by the Jamiesons, is expected to create up to 200 new jobs. This will mark the family’s tenth independently owned and operated SHOP ‘n SAVE. In addition to the grocery store, the development will include a beer distributor, auto parts store and dollar store.

Youngwood Mayor, Joan B. Derco, and local dignitaries will celebrate the new development and honor the Jamieson Family during the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, April 16 at 3 p.m. For more information, please visit
